About this competition

A documentary filmmaking competition for young storytellers. Capture a real subject, a real place, or a real issue — and bring it to the screen with clarity and care.

Rules and guidelines

1. The film must be a documentary based on real people, places or events. Scripted fiction is not eligible.
2. The documentary must be original and made for this competition. Previously released or previously submitted films are not eligible.
3. Register as an individual or a team. All contributing members must be named where the format requires it.
4. You are responsible for clearing any music, footage or material you did not create, and for consent from interview subjects.
5. Subtitles are required if the film is not in the announced language.
6. Content must be family-friendly. Nothing obscene, sectarian or defamatory.
7. Submission format and delivery instructions are shared after registration.
